Okay… HILARIOUS, this one is! I can soooo relate to this one.
The whole time I was away recently enjoying the palm trees swaying, the wife couldn’t stop commenting about how “pleasant” of a mood I was in. As soon as we landed and I saw the snowbanks again… Grumpy McGrump returned!

I think it’s days like this that force us to become bipolar. 🙂 Love the profile shots in today’s strip Dawn. I always see a lot of the 3/4 shots, and when an artist does a straight on or profile it’s really nice to see.
Fred and Zorphbert’s heads in shadow in the first 3 panels make me think of MST3K.
I hate those days,especially when you start out warm then it’s cold by the time you come home. We got hit with one too many of those this year. Leave the house and it’s 50’s/60’s, suddenly at lunch time a cold front comes in and it’s 20’s on your way home in the evening. No one plans for that, you hear the weatherman tell ya it’s coming but when you walk out the door in the morning and it’s in the upper 50’s your brain overrides logic and tells you…Meh, just wear the short sleeves, you’ll be fine. Stupid Weatherman doesn’t know anything, feel that warmth…it’s spring baby. Then you’re frozen to the gas pump at 5:30pm, looking like a Tyrannosaurus Rex with that just your hands sticking out of the top of your short sleeve shirt, all the while your brain is yelling, “You MORON!! Why didn’t you take your coat this morning?”

You’re pretty much describing Oregon at the moment. For February it’s kind of insane. 70 degrees, clear and working in the yard, in the following week 3 inches of rain, the back yard’s thinking of turning into a pond then a decent to 30 and snow and you’re thinking of hugging the heating stove when you come in, followed by another couple of 60 degree days. Snow level’s supposed to drop to sea level on Wednesday.
I guess we’re not alone in the winter-spring shift roller coaster, over here in Philly! My parents’ back yard often gets a pond/river goin’, after a good rain. They actually have a pump hooked up to drain it!

Wow, and I thought NYC was bad, with 60 degrees one day and 20 degrees the next. Mu husband and I just moved to Brooklyn, and we haven’t seen the neighborhood without snow and ice (blame the mayor that – I do!)
Z&F better figure out an extraterrestrial way to combat climate change.

As for the rain/snow… hmmm… I am a fan of snow, and there’s something peaceful about freshly fallen snow. Think I’d take it over rain, provided it’s a Saturday and I don’t have to unearth my car ;0)

my parents live in South NJ- Delran area. But we’re originally from Cleveland.. so any temperature above 20 degrees in the months of October thru April is GREATLY appreciated! and snow is.. well… the “norm”.

I started the webcomic addiction through Ted Rall’s Attitude series, and one artist recommended two more, who recommended two more, etc. It’s a nice way to start the day.
Usually I like snow, but NYC doesn’t do snow well. We freak out over 2 inches, forget 2 feet. But anything’s bearable when you don’t need to leave home. Just remember that some of us have to walk through that snow, although enough snow in Brooklyn means “I can’t get to work” so it’s not all bad 😛
Philly’s not far off from NYC…people rush out to buy bread, milk and booze for an inch of snow like its Armageddon. When my family first moved, NJ got hit by some major storms, but after 15+ years of similar winters in the area I figured the constant fear and anxiety would have leveled off. Nope.
I do love how webcomics spread like the plague. Erm, that sounded bad, but you get the idea. Pass it along!
