Alright, this is pretty cool. I’m proud of myself for doin’ it. Here’s some sketches from my wondrous webcomics weekend (yeah, I said it). Click on the sketch to check out the creator’s site…See if you can guess the pro by the sketch! Neat, huh? I’m so good. *pats self on back while tooting one’s own horn*
yeah, Carlisle was in like every picture, he played the role of Mr. Ambitious Socialite. I was the group photographer… and I still feel odd about asking people for their picture with me. Don’t ask me why. Not like I’m that shy.
OO! OO! and a Video!

This is a clip of the Webcomics Weekly Podcast with the guys from Halfpixel.com / webcomics.com
I’ll be updating with another blog post that will include some sketches and other goodies from this past weekend. Just give me some more time to recover!
annnnnnnnd I’m back. Wow. What an experience that was. I highly recommend if you’re are at all serious about webcomics, as a fan or as a creator, GO to Webcomics Weekend… as it does seem like this may be a yearly event! It may not be in at this place or even in the New England area, but… GO. One big pep rally for WEBcomics.
“This event was the brainchild of Meredith Gran (Octopus Pie) and seems to have begun as “hey, webcomic artists, come to Easthampton and get drunk!â€. Somehow this spiraled into a full blown non-convention with panels, awards, and the cream of the webcomics crop.”
So, it basically was kind of a convention after all. Minus a lot of of the crazy costumes, extra long lines, and non-comics merch-overload that usually deters me from going to conventions. I met a lot of these pros, with lives I covet: making a living off of their comic. Amazing, it is possible. The panels were a tad disappointing, honestly (except for the webcomics weekly podcast, which was hilarious!), but I think I managed to wrangle some tips and info out of them. All in all, a cool experience.
Our guys have immersed themselves in Earth pop culture technology… and stumbled on TWITTER! That’s right, you can now follow and chat with Zorphbert andFred(well “and_fred”, Fred was taken.. of course)
So, follow your buddies! They should be entertaining. I’ve already conversed with them personally. Because I’m a dork.
You should probably already know that I, myself, am also on twitter.. right here.
Off to webcomics weekend! See you all next Tuesday, I hope.
Hello my good alien-dog-lover friends. I have some good and bad news. Bad news first: there will only be one update this week, on Wednesday. The good news: the REASON for this rare cut-back is this:
Yup, I’ll be there! Not really a “special guest” or anything that grand… but it should be a great time. This is not a convention per say, more like a humongous gathering of webcartoonists to shmooze with. Geekfest! Lots of webcartoonists there that actually make a LIVING off of their work, can you imagine? And when I get back, I’ll be joining in on a podcast with Argon and ArgonsAssistant over at The Villain’s Corner. So, you’ll get to hear allllllll about my escapades from the weekend.
Speaking of, this past weekend I’ve learned that Talkshoe hates me. More like, hates ArgonsAssistant. Twice we attempted to record my interview, and twice it didn’t quite work out so well- booting poor AA off the call. Let’s hope the long break will give the people at TalkShoe time to fix their problems. Stooooopid technology!
