Z&F World Tour: Antarctica

From the sunny beaches of the Galapagos Islands, to the frozen icebergs of Antarctica.. pardon the pun, but Z&F’s final tour is a bit Bi-POLAR lately!

This chillingly awesome piece comes from John Bintz, who proves himself a long-time reader with a little reference to a very old comic from 2007– The One With the Penguin.

If you enjoy wizardry, fantasy and mystery comics, be sure to check out John’s latest project: The Wizard and the Metalsmith!

Kickstarter Update: 79% Funded with 22 days to go!

Things have gotten unsettlingly quiet after the first huge wave of backers.. I know I need to be patient & just keep promoting. In any case,  please swing by and check it out! The video alone has been getting such great feedback!

Z&F World Tour: Galapagos Islands

These islands are for the BIRDS! Okay, now that the bad pun is out of the way, I can tell you that Z&F’s tour has diverted off to more secluded regions…. as proof, here’s a little snapshot from the Galapagos Islands by Carolyn Belefski of Curls Studio. Wonder what the guys would think of Darwin’s study of natural selection? Probably….. “well, DUH!”, right?!

Thanks to Carolyn for “getting me back”, as I just supplied HER some fanart for HER Kickstarter recently! And, it was beach-themed too! Go check out her adorably quirky comic CURLS at Curls Studio.

Z&F World Tour: Philippines

Up next on the Final World Tour, Z&F swing by the Phillipines, and see the beautiful Rice Terraces, which have been around since the Spanish arrival to the Philippines. You can read more about these fascinating man-made irrigation systems HERE. See, a few educational pit stops can be fun!

This cool drawing of my classic Z&F in their UFO (which btw, is never seen in the comic, a fun tidbit for ya) is by old friend Carlo Jose San Juan, whom I know best from the doctor-and-a-duck comic Callous Comics. Carlo also co-created and wrote M.O.U.S.E, which stands for Multiple Ordnance and Utility Synthetic Entity. Yes, it features a real mouse. :0)

There’s also his upcoming comic called Immortal Wings, another he co-created and wrote. The artwork is by Rod Espinosa of Courageous Princess and it’ll be brought to everyone through Antarctic Press.

Z&F World Tour: Philadelphia

Fantastic rendering, isn’t it? Z&F continue their world tour and stop by MY neighborhood! The great Philadelphia, flaws and all. Even our bell is cracked, as Fred points out in utter disappointment. This beautiful piece is done by 2 longtime friends– brothers Brendon and Brian Fraim. I met them at Philadelphia Wizard World years ago, because I enjoyed their comic America Jr., and discovered they graduated from the same art school I did- Tyler School of Art! You can see more of their tediously realistic linework in all sorts of comics & projects here: www.brosfraim.com

Z&F World Tour: London

I have quite the stock-pile of fanart rolling in- both in my inbox and my mail box- all of which I cannot WAIT to share with you all. The turn out for the final Fanart Challenge has been great!

Next up on the tour is LONDON! Jimmy Steen of the slice-of-geek-life “Drawn Closer“, fittingly brings Z&F into the world of the British TV gem Doctor Who, with Clara Oswald A.K.A. “Impossible Girl”. I think if the Weird Kid and Impossible Girl hung out, there would be a definite rip in the space-time continuum. Whoops, I think I’m crossing the Doctor Who & Back to the Future streams there. And now Ghostbusters. Have I lost you yet? Because I’m lost, myself.
