Irma rocks. She simply does. Again, at NYCC I had the pleasure of meeting her in person, and like most webcomic creators I meet, INSTANT friendship. But we’re more than that… we’re sisters, two of few lone females in the male-dominate comic industry, at the same point in our careers… cranking out our best work and hoping for the best! Irma’s “Imy” is one of my must-reads, and I know she’s got great things in store for her if she keeps it up.. and I KNOW she will.
I couldn’t wait to see what Irma came up with. She got to hear via email some of the wedding planning stress and see my vision for the day, so I knew she’d have more fuel to make an awesome guest piece. What I like most is she actually used a tidbit from her OWN wedding: you always forget at least ONE thing when planning, and Irma & her hubby forgot to bring rice to throw at the ceremony! Her working that into this was really neat.. and I still chuckle at the wad of white rice SMACKing me in the face, LOL!
Go RAWK out with Irma and her awesome creation Imy:

Dawn and Rick, whom the human characters in Z&F are loosely based around, are (finally) getting married after 7 years together, on November 6th, 2010. These terrific guest strips and artwork were submitted as a wedding gift by fellow webcomic creators and readers, using Dawn’s Wedding Guest Art Registry. Dawn.. erm, OKAY, I am very grateful for all the time and effort put into these awesome pieces and plan to include them in a special section of our wedding album. Thank you all SO much … for such a unique wedding experience.. and for feeding my website so I can take a much needed break!
Regular Z&F strips will return on Christmas Day! My holiday gift to you, readers ;0)
Good thing it wasn’t shrimp fried rice….ewww the smell.
ugh.. true dat LOL
Good one! I always take a box of rice at weddings and pretend that I’m unaware that you have to take the rice out of the box.
Whoever came up with blowing bubbles at weddings should be hit with a box of rice.
Now there’s a way to get welcomed into the ranks of marriage.. being pelted with boxes of rice-a-roni. HAHAHA, too funny Stephan.
We did neither. It was about as simple a ceremony (7-8 mins long) as you can have.
Red Beans and Rice would’ve been interesting too. LOL. Great strip, Irma.
or chili. MMMM-mm. Now there’s some funny trash-the-dress photos. Covered in hot chili and Tabasco. yeeeowch.
LOL!!
indeed! long time no see, sista!
Great guest strip Irma. At least the rice was cooked. They don’t allow us to throw rice at weddings here in Texas anymore, something about the fact that when a bird eats uncooked rice it’s like giving Alka-Seltzer to Seagulls….it has internal explosive results.
I want to see Fred chunk another glob with those chopsticks…show off his Mr. Miyagi talent. 🙂
yeah, it’s pretty much outlawed everywhere for that bizarre reason. Who knew?? sheesh. Annnnnnd, I managed to touch on this very subject here:

hahaha awesome job, Irma!
yes, she deserves a round of applause!
They should have known she would have preferred the rice covered in dark chocolate! ;`)
Irma, great job doing the bad dogs in your own inimitable style!
*drools* chocolate covered… anything!
Love that SMACK! Great guest spot, Irma!
Thank you all so much! I loved drawing Dawn’s characters!! And IMy-izing Dawn herself 😉
