I think redneck Fred would be a funny addition to the strip. Kind of like “Spike”, Snoopy’s desert-dwelling friend-of-the-cacti brother. No offense to the guy, but “Bo Lumpkin” has got to be the redneck-iest name ever. But yknow what, he has such a sense of humor about himself, he’d probably find that hilarious. How do I know this? Just check out his cleverly written comic and you’ll see why! Rednecks are funny, are they not?

Dawn and Rick, whom the human characters in Z&F are loosely based around, are (finally) getting married after 7 years together, on November 6th, 2010. These terrific guest strips and artwork were submitted as a wedding gift by fellow webcomic creators and readers, using Dawn’s Wedding Guest Art Registry. Dawn.. erm, OKAY, I am very grateful for all the time and effort put into these awesome pieces and plan to include them in a special section of our wedding album. Thank you all SO much … for such a unique wedding experience.. and for feeding my website so I can take a much needed break!
Regular Z&F strips will return on Christmas Day! My holiday gift to you, readers ;0)
Great guest strip, Bo! I think I’ll have some grits too.
I don’t think Fred is the first to be underdressed to a wedding. Nice job Bo.
this isn’t aimed at me……. is it??
Thanks for the opportunity Dawn. Using words like redneckiness might mean you have just a little redneck in you too. Hope no one shows up at your wedding in overalls.
Great job on the guest strip Bo. I love how you played off of Fred’s innocence and misunderstanding that makes that character so great. You definitely captured their dynamic wonderfully. I love the CAT hat you put on Fred, not only does it capture the farmer style you were going for, but it also captures Fred’s over bearing need to want to be a cat.
I’m with George..I’ll have some grits too.
Hey that’s a great toon. I am a regular enjoyer of Bo’s redneckiness. I especially love his “Creatures of Habit” cartoons. I used the “Oops, my bad” line the other night & apparently my wife’s never heard of it so I had to explain what it meant…
Well done Bo!!!
I was at a wedding once where the preacher was in a T-shirt, and that was in California (the preacher was from Oklahoma, though).
Great job, Bo!
Thanks everyone for all the awesome comments.
