Ever notice there’s a lot of cliches about “sleeping” and “bed” and “dogs”?
I learned a lot from writing up this comic. One, I learned the difference between idioms and cliches…. and I also learned the origin of “let sleeping dogs lie”…. which is sometimes called a PROVERB too. In essence, if it may bite, may as well lay low and let it go.
Not only that, but we now know what was probably assumed anyway: Fred is a bed-hog.
Fred found that nice spot between the owners, that soft valley where only brave dogs tread and once welcomed in they never want to leave. This is the first time I recall seeing Zorphbert in a lying position, I may be wrong and this just may have caught my eye, but you did a fantastic job on capturing the frame of a dog in the lay position, though we know Zorphberts not a dog, so I’ll say you did a fantastic job of capturing an alien emulating a dog in the lay position. 🙂
heh. thanks! I think I have drawn Z lying down before but it IS indeed a rare occurrence. Almost as rare as Z smiling! Thanks Todd for your complex compliment ahahaha!
Zorphbert, see how he’s kind of shoved to the corner of the bed, about to fall off ?.. thats me! Between my frenchie [the dog] and the italian [my wife]… I have to hold onto the bed post at night to stop that long fall to the ground and lose that tiny space they allow me to have.
LOL!! This is why we have April on her own bed on the floor. She’s not one to jump up on furniture anyway. We’re luuuuuucky!
Fred’s lying. 🙂
lying in the bed he un-made. LOL
Let sleeping dogs sleep, forever!
and ME! I wanna sleep forever.
That’s a groaner for sure love it.
every once in a while, I gotta let a “groaner” rip.
That sounded bad…
