This is so totally undeniably me. I just cannot help myself. Relaxation lasts maybe an hour and then I get antsy and think about all the things I SHOULD be doing with my free time.

Heh! Yeah, well, that “and then I get antsy and think about all the things I SHOULD be doing with my free time” happens a lot to me too.
Difference is, I usually say stuff like “Okay, I’ll get to it RIGHT AFTER this show is over…”.
🙂
heh, in a rare moment I’ll procrastinate like that due to a fav movie being on or whatnot. In most cases I am underestimating how long something will take to get done tho. Or saying “screw sleep.”
That’s great, I’m so the same way. In fact this very situation occurred just before Christmas. Lisa and I decided we wanted to start watching some Christmas movies about 3 weeks prior to Christmas, we’d watch one every Thursday or Friday night just to get us in the Holiday mood. The first week went without a hitch, she picked out the movie while I got the kids ready for bed. The next week after getting the kids in bed I picked out the movie…and low and behold they had been watching movies and just putting them back whilly nilly. I pulled all the DVD’s out and started alphabetizing them and grouped all the kids movies together on the lower shelfs and alphabetized them. To say the least we never got around to watching our movie that night.
ha, that’s frustrating isn’t it? ah well… still christmasy enough now to finish up that movie list!
When we got our new big flat screen, we wanted to christen it with all 3 extended versions of LOTR, 1 each night. The first was no biggie. But the other 2 took 2 more weeks, not days, to finish. blah!
Excellent! I think people (uh, like me) who can’t easily relax are amusing at parties, though. Once we finally do relax the explosion of pent up tension is sort of like watching fireworks.
hee hee, good point! I’m not a HUGE drinker… I usually stop at buzzed before I make an @$$ outta myself ;0)
looks like we have a lot in common! my wife tells me i’m like hummingbird with ADD.
this needs to be drawn, Brad. Get on that will ya?
Being a cartoonist on your free time probably doesn’t help you relax. Do you draw when you’re watching TV and stuff?
I’ve given up on arranging the DVD’s until the last baby cousin has outgrown the “Pull Things Off The Shelf” phase.
funny, I lump my dayjob and my webcomic and my kids’ book series all into “work”. Free time is outside of those 3. Which amounts to, on average, 5 minutes each week. ;0)
I try not to watch TV while I work, but sometimes multi-tasking (like if a game is on) is necessary. I work faster when it’s just music… less distractions. Those abundant ghost shows are good tho… 90% of it is just fluff, and I can look up at the good parts!
Good idea, about those destructor cousins of yours! May as well save yourself the headache.
You and the wife would be 2 peas in a pod! She can’t sit still either!…I find it exhausting watching her go-GO-go! *smirk*
I am the same way! Drives my husband nuts! Glad I’m not alone! 🙂
My wife is the exact same way. Even when she says she’s gonna relax, she just gets up and starts cleaning or does laundry. I’m the only one who knows how to properly vegetate. 😀
