There’s just something about the days that follow Christmas, there’s a sort of feeling of remorse. It’s hard to believe it’s over, it comes and goes so fast now. The headaches definitely start before the New Years party with the paying of the Christmas Bills, that’s for sure.
I like this one – it’s like the Aliens have a window seat to my soul… [/weirdness] I’m excited about the upcoming Z&F comic collection – it’ll go well next to my Bullfinch.
By the way – my daughter won’t stop bringing me her new Abby’s Adventures book that she got for Christmas! No, seriously – make her stop. It’s all she wants to do now, ask me to read. Noooooooooooooooooooo!
Truth! But I leave my decorations out for a while. I don’t like taking them down. In fact, I’m eating a candy cane now, from a box I bought Yesterday. I go down swinging.
LOL, nice. Me too, actually… don’t take down the tree until those needles really start falling off. AND, we leave up the white lights around our french door all year long. Mostly ‘cuz they’re a pain to take down ;0)
It’s funny, cause it’s true, lol. I wait until after New Year’s day to take the stuff down. It feels more official by then. Plus, I really HATE to take down the train layout. It’s so much d*mn fun! 😀
Yeah, my dad and grandpop both had that kind. Really cool. It’s funny, trains are one of those things that instantly makes me a kid again along with Peanuts comics and baseball cards. 😀
This comic was a little pre-emptive. My tree’s still up, and will remain up until the needles start take over my porch area. It’s cool as long as you’re not hiding Easter eggs in the Christmas Tree….
Curious to know what Zorphbert would think of the humans who just keep their Christmas lights up all year long. (I had an uncle who kept his whole tree up all year. It got dusty.)
(Extra-nice looking strip today, btw! Good depth and interesting angles. Nice linework.)
There’s no way my wife would let me take down the tree before New Year’s Day. Or the Santas. Or the outside lights. Or the stockings. Or the snowman that sings the “Snow MIser” song.
We’re getting ready to take our tree down today. I thought maybe it was too early. I wouldn’t mind leaving it up all year. I guess it is time, though, to start throwing away the old wrapping paper shreds, huh? 🙂

Ha,ha,ha Christmas Coma.
heh, thanks MJ! Thinking that’s what I shoulda titled this comic.

remorse, good word. That’s the word I wanted to use, but couldn’t remember it.
I’m gonna continue to pretend my credit card bill doesn’t exist for another couple days.

The simple way to stop having to read that Abby’s Adventure book is to buy her the other one. Then she’ll start making you read that one.
Nope, she’s already got BOTH! Winnie’s a big Abby supporter! Now I gotta get workin’ on the NEXT Abby book- “Earth Day Celebration”….
Thanks for the update Winnie, so glad to hear she loves it, despite your annoyance with having to read it all the time ;0)

oh, trains are the best! My grandfather had one that actually puffed smoke! I loved it ;0)

I still have the dent in my forehead from when I was bonking it on the table. And the calculator got jammed in my left eye socket. Ah, Christmas time.
nothing like good old tradition, huh? LOL, be careful with those calculators, don’t go and SHOOT YOUR EYE OUT!
(do they even air “A Christmas Story” over there in the UK?)
I will probably wait another couple weeks to yank my tree. Not cause I’m nostalgic…I’m just a lazy bastard.

Leave it to the puppies to get it right!
(they’ve probably got their taxes finished already!)
Leave it to the IRS to tax aliens.

Thanks Chris, this strip did take me longer than usual, all those perspectives and angles involved are more time consuming than I think!

Can I borrow that snowman? LOL!

nah, just use ’em for tissue paper next year.
Nice one Dawn – love the artwork in second frame! Thankfully, my wife does the bills. I couldn’t bear to look! This was an expensive December!!!
oooof, the holidays are always more expensive than you expect…. I need a wife to do my bills too. My fiance probably wouldn’t mind that either, ha!
