Whew. What a weekend in Boston! The Comic Con was excellent and apparently grew by a TON this year and last. 40,000 attendees! But the key takeway for me can be summed up in a picture:
Yep, by mid-day Saturday I had sold out of Volume 1, and by Sunday afternoon, Volumes 2 & 3 were ALL GONE! That’s the first time that’s ever happened in 4 years! I had brought my standard amount for a big show that I have never done before. Obviously for shows like Baltimore or Philly that I have done for years, I tend to expect some repeat customers stopping by for volume 2 or 3, if they liked 1, so I pack more. Boston was a first-time show for me; besides the handful of online readers who knew Z&F, most of my sales were impulse purchases and most went for the 3-for-$30 deal! You Bostonians love your comics!
You guessed it, Boston is officially on my con route next year too!
I’m still recovering, which is why it took so long to add this note. A hearty, happy and warm THANK YOU to Boston! Thanks so very much for dropping by my table and taking a chance on Zorphbert & Fred, Abby’s Adventures, or maybe a print/t-shirt! I hope you had as much fun as I did :0)
The logic of children: truly unassailable.
my head hurts.
Hmmm… apparently one doesn’t have to be cool, as long as one looks cool…
that’s the rule, so I hear…
Nicotine seems to enhance stupidity though
