The first time I ever carved my own pumpkin, I realized just how grateful I was for my mother who would gladly empty out the icky pulpy stuff for me in the past. Who knew pumpkins contained a slimy freakish life-form like that inside? *shudder*
I’m BAAAACK!
Although, it’s not like I really went anywhere. I was still working hard behind the scenes for the past 2 months or so, perfecting an updated style for Z&F, pounding out comic after comic to build up my very first buffer (over a month’s worth!), and preparing for the New York Comic Con … which is far more of an ordeal than your average comic con, whew! So, I have been a busy bee. Look for a Recap of the Comic Con right here soon– after I find time to recover and regain some form of consciousness.
New Stuff!
A couple small changes to your favorite website featuring alien dogs…
- THREE TIMES A WEEK Updates! That’s right, I’m working my hardest to bring you Z&F comic goodness Monday, Wednesday and Friday! Does that seem like too much to keep track of? Well– you can follow Z&F by subscribing to the RSS Feed, or by subscribing to the email newsletter (no spammy stuff, I swear!)
- OOOooo… COLOR! As you can see, Z&F will now be in FULL COLOR! In refining and tweaking my process of coloring, I found a way that’s quick and fun and will allow me to add color without losing (too much) sleep! Amazing how a little color works wonders, huh?
- New Page for Pet Lovers! I am unveiling a new page for pet lovers (yes, even cats… eww) that allows the community here at ZFCOMICS.COM to show off their little “Space Cadet“. If you have ever been suspicious of your pet dog/cat/fish/hamster/rooster/ferret/rock/etc… wondering if they, too, are closely watching you.. ANALYZING you, for some alien research mission… snap a picture and share it HERE! Plus, vote for others pics, and get ideas to add more of your own! Just a fun little corner of my interweb home for you Z&F readers. :0)
If you have a funny pet…. maybe one you’re a bit suspicious of, considering what you’ve read about Zorphbert and Fred– go post a picture of your furry friend, or tell us a funny story!

Welcome back!!! I’ll have to dig through my pet photos and get something up there soon.
I was thinking of you and your dogs in particular, Chris!
Welcome back, Dawn! I’m anxious to see how this all works out for you! I’m diggin’ the color! I always found the coloring part the easiest for me, as far as time goes.
And pumpkins are like tomatoes… all normal looking on the outside, but once you cut them open, something very wrong has happened. It’s like an alien life pod or something… Hey! Aliens… 😛
coloring IS pretty easy- a relaxing for me. It just takes some extra time.
the worst alien-fruit: Passion Fruit (see pic). *shiver* SCARY on the inside. Worse than pomegranate. and dealing with it in the foodservice industry is a pain!
Passion fruit is delicious!!! 🙂
First new strip in weeks! And it’s Halloween leaning!
Told ya! ;0P
a whole bunch of halloween strips coming up, stay tuned!
Allowme to be the third to say it.. welcome back! I like the way you handle the color. Congratulations on building up the buffer… the hardest part is always maintaining it.
Thank you Jerry!!! I hope my OCD-ness carries over to maintaining that $#@& buffer!
Welcome back, Z+F! I dig the new style and approach and hope it results in some series traffic spikage!
Thanks Tyler! I am hoping the extra update and addition of color is just what the doctor called for to expand my readership!
Love it, Love it, Love it!! Welcome Back Z&F!!
My wife still will not dig into a pumpkin. I know come this time of year she’s thankful we had boys, cause she knows even when I pass on the boys will still be glad and willin’ to carve her out a pumpkin. We (the boys and I) were up to our armpits in pumpkin innards this past weekend. We made a Boris Karloff Frankenstein pumpkin.
My mom wasn’t so smart. She too always cut the top off too. As an adult, I learned cut the bottom off and you won’t burn yourself when lighting.
I’ve never carved a pumpkin before. I think I’m just as scared of the innards as they are. 🙂
She’s back in the saddle again. Love-LOVE-love the fact your coloring the strip now!
Yay, thank you!
Great to see you back Dawn. I think going full-color is a good addition. You have a great sense of color choices and it really helps serve the gags.
Thanks so much Tony. Good to hear the extra effort to add color is worthwhile!
Welcome back, Dawn. Zorphbert is right, pumpkins are evil. Almost as bad as clowns. Evil scary pumpkin clowns….
ahahaha… I don’t have a fear of clowns, but I know many who do!
Some things are too hard to see!!! 🙂
I remembered the scene of “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom” when they are having dinner and get brain jelly on monkeys´ heads. (:p
ick! now that’s worse than pumpkin guts for sure.
