Ever since getting a dog, we have a new traditional in our family.. usually involving dragging a shivering dog out of the bathtub / basement / closet / fireplace.
Hope everyone (in America) had a great holiday. As for everyone else, hope you survived another Monday.
My blueheeler will just about drive his dog house clean thru the other side of the porch after each BLAM! of a firework. Last night we launched ours in front of the house and he was pretty cool with the whistles and crackles of the fountains, peeking around the corner cautiously seeing what was going on, but once the blackcats started and the artillery shells went airborne you didn’t see that dog again for a long time.
ah, so your dog is a selective fireworks-phob. Nope, April is pretty much scared of any noise that’s not the “norm”. Around this season of thunderstorms and fireworks, a loud truck on the main road will send her to the basement for 2+ hours.
Be-Jesus? I bet it has no connection to 2007-2010 My Cage artist Melissa DeJesus!
heh, have to admit I thought of that too when writing it. Wonder if Melissa makes any jokes about her name.
My pug tries chasing fireworks once they have liftoff! Although, when my neighbors blew off a few m-80’s w/o forewarning… jynksie had an accident or two of his own! o.O
figures, your pug will take on the fireworks, but my big Lab-Rottie mix cowers in fear.
Our neighbors set off one that gave me a minor heart attack this year as well! Accident-free tho, proud to say. Little victories.
Cats aren’t too thrilled with fireworks either. Afterall they disturb nap time (which is anytime other than eat time)
heaven forbid you disturb cat nap time! lol
We have the same day but it’s on 5th November. 🙂
one day before our anniversary! :0)
