It’s just about time to lug the lawnmower out of our basement and deal with all the weeds and old dead leaves.. my least favorite part of spring. I like all the growth and renewal, until I have to clean up after it.

Muwahahaha, that’s one of the down sides of owing a house. Now me, I live in a rent apartment and have other people do the dirty work for me 😀 😀
That is one of the perks of an apartment.. but I do love to sit in a lawnchair in my yard with a drinky-drink and draw comics ;0)
Wait ’til they start laying out the gopher traps!
oooh, ho. good one. shoulda used that…
I love that I landscaped my yard. No lawn mowing for me ever again. Suckers!!
you got me thinking now…… but what would my dog do if she didn’t have fresh grass to pee on (and kill)
I sure wish I could kill some of the pollen right about now! 🙂
eesh. thankful I do not have allergies.
Ah the joy of spring. The fresh air, the sound of birds in the trees, the nice soft grass beneath your feet….over your shoes….weeds creeping up your legs….aaahhhhh….get the mower, get the weed killer, get the grass seeds to cover up that annoying bald spot that the frozen tundra of winter killed off. Kind of takes the Joy out of spring, but hey it is cool to get my garden started though, after I weed it…again. 🙂
I absolutely love Fred’s innocence, the two middle panels are adorable. The last panel is awesome to me. Seems no matter what I do I fight getting that cotton pickin’ lawn mower to start every time. I had one year where pulling at the starter cord over and over eventually caused the cord to snap and suck back up inside the mower, talk about throwing a fit. Now we’ve moved to a place with a lot of land, and alas I now fight a riding mower each year (battery, fuel filter, tires) I think vegetation just hasn’t gotten strong enough to kill us like in “The Happening” so it just sends out seedlings to wreck our lawn cutting machinery during the off season. It’s all a conspiracy I tell ya. 🙂
Hahaha! I bet it is weird to watch our reaction to springtime. 🙂 Good one, Dawn!
Great work on the angle in the third frame Dawn!!
thats why zorphbert needs to introduce you to the yard butt… er bot 2000
Concrete yards are a bummer, but it’s one of the upsides to living in a city.
You really nailed the despondency in the last panel!
And THAT is why I’m happy we bought an apartment and not a house!
