Got this idea from my *ahem* husband. I was putting together a new vacuum cleaner and getting annoyed with the pieces not fitting together… and this statement was made, cracking me up. Go team.
Who’s not ready to go back to work? *raises hand*
Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas/holiday/Saturday.
I am so glad my children are grown. Christmas is so much better when you don’t have to assemble things. I have a rule for grandchildren gifts…they don’t get anything I have to assemble.
oh, my parents still like to remind me of some corkboard kitchen set thing they had to assemble when I was like 4. I’m pretty good at assembling stuff, but doing it Xmas Eve night… eesh. You’re a smart granddad ;0)
I feel his pain. I had a ton of Lego stuff that never go completed cause I couldn’t make it thru the tedious 100+ step process. Now that I have kids I find myself having to suck it up and push on thru. I see my kids get frustrated at their stuff so I guess it’s definitely Monkey see Monkey do…even when Monkey No Like. 🙂
I’m a HUGE Logo fan. However, I’d almost never actually create the model on the box. Follow instructions? bah. I’d toss ’em and make my own castle. It’d be mutli-colored jumbled concoction full of trapdoors and secret passages. I’d dream of living inside.
I do recall making my own race car from the instructions… had a real steering wheel that would turn the wheels and everything.
a little imagination goes a long way! Maybe encourage your kids to try blueprinting their OWN castles and build them from scratch. Yknow, once in a while. Following instructions is a good skill as well.
awww let him, zorph
