Watercolors, eh? Well, at least she didn’t take up cartooning as a hobby!
ahaha… that would be WAY too “meta”.
A hiccup is an involuntary contraction of the diaphragm that may repeat several times per minute.
My method to cure hiccups is based on applying pressure to the diaphragm.
1. Take as deep of a breath as you can.
2. With your throat closed, open your mouth and take more air in. Shut your mouth and push the air back into your throat. Try to do that three times. (Remember, we are trying to apply pressure to your diaphragm)
3. While holding your breath, remain calm and count backwards in seconds (in your head) from ten to one.
4. Once you hit “1”, calmly breathe out. Should take about three seconds.
It may take a little practice but it always works for the people I talk through their hiccups with. 😀
That sounds similar to my family’s old trick… which involves holding your breath and swallowing repeatedly (drinking water).. until you hafta breathe again! Sometimes you can plug your ears too (and use a straw).. but works without it too. Not sure that matters.
