So much for being conspicuous.
Dawn’s Actual Wedding Experience:
Being that our ceremony and reception venue was in a public park, there was always a chance of interruption or outside noise during the ceremony. I do recall a far-off kid’s scream during one of the readings… and hikers stopping to watch as Rick and I did our private photo session with the photographer. But it could have been much worse.. like a drunk groomsmen and a crazy talking squirrel bombarding the ceremony.
And, we had cupcakes instead of a cake. Best dang cupcakes I ever tasted, too.

when my sister was getting married at the round barn up by flagstaff. a whole group of canoers ended up in the picture. atleast five shots of me came out like i was in the italian mafia, but atleast the wedding rings didnt end up falling down in the outhouse like i was expecting.
that sounds like…. a wedding I have never seen before, LOL.
One of my “cousins” had an outdoor wedding last fall. Just as the vows were being exchanged, a very loud gust of wind swept through. I said it was like a trumpet fanfare. My cousin said he felt as if it were the earth about to swallow him whole. (I hope his wife isn’t reading this…meh, she’d probably laugh.)
Ah, the art of the bystander. I went to the mall in my wedding dress because I really wanted a gyro from Great Wraps (seriously – I’m weird like that), and though I know that’s not the same, I certainly had my gawkers, too.
I love cupcakes served like that/cupcake cake – those are my favorite, too. Less mess, portion control, and simply awesome to look at!
Now that’s a wedding they’ll always remember. Now let’s eat some cake! 🙂
I just love a happy endin’.
The Squirrel for the win on this one! Love Zorphie’s “NNNG” in the final panel too. Always having to put up with all the other stuff.
Cupcakes, eh? Were they Hostess? Ummm… now I’m hungry. Hostess was the best when you “crave” snacks like I use to in the late 70s. 🙂
Oh, did you get married? I think I missed that… (ducks sucker punch)…
😛
Everyone should have a wedding that they remember for one reason or another. 🙂
