Hoooo man, nothing’s worse than that moment when you catch yourself swearing in front of your parents, especially as a kid, when you can still get a “whoopin'”. Or in Ralphie’s case, a mouthful of soap.
Anyone else remember the soap punishment? I can remember a couple times, vaguely. You know, soap poisoning erased those memories for me, brain damage as all. ;0)

I still wake up in cold sweats with the taste of soap in my mouth. We got it for swear words and for talking ugly or back to our parents. But we took the soap over the belt any day.
I hope the Weird Kid can hold onto his innocence a bit longer where Fudge is the F-Bomb and not that other horrible word. Stay strong Weird Kid, your day will come. I love how excited Fred get’s when he thinks it’s a Bake Off of some kind.
Nothing like fudging around to mess up a good essay
I admit I was sceptical at first. I never really cared for the movie, but I’m enjoying the Z&F version.
Totally remember the time I used the “fudge” word in front of Mom and Dad. Thought I whispered it, and was horrified when I saw my Dad’s face — the realization of what I had done was awful. Dad’s wrath was pretty bad, too.
Incidentally, a fudge-off DOES sound pretty neat 🙂
