Poor Weird Kid, huh? We’ve all been there though, right? Unrequited love, the oldest love story there is. For the Weird Kid, it’s not only painful, but shockingly new to him… he’s not used to thinking about girls as anything but an obstacle on his mission to be weird and do weird things. Not sure I recall the exact moment I realized I liked a boy “that way”, but if we were better able to recognize and analyze those first feelings of young love, it would be a big moment in our lives. Good thing for Weird Kid, he’s got very analytical friends. Stay tuned, Weird Kid may get psycho-analyzed on a couch, while Zorphbert puffs on a pipe.
I feel your pain Weird Kid. It’ll be this way for several more years, so don’t give up. Now’s the time to regroup and come up with a new strategy to grab her attention. Try sharing with her some of your Sci-Fi and comic interests, she may have a draw to one of those as well. Keep working at it little dude, before long one of those “Stupid” girls are going to take interest in you and you’ll see them in a completely new light.
