I think after almost 3 years of feverishly sticking to my update schedule, I am allowed a pass for something like this:
I got last-minute tickets from my company (*ahem* SUPERPRETZEL *ahem*), and will be attending tonight’s Phillies-Dodgers game. Man, if it’s anything like that heart-stopping ending of the last game, I cannot miss it! I am sooooo excited! On to the World Series, baby! Hey, if my Cleveland teams cannot win, I’ll mooch off of Philly. Wish Cliff Lee was on the mound, he WAS an Indian. (Plus, he’s really really really good.)
Look for me on TV!
Wow, that is so cool! And hey they won too. I’m originally from Pittsburgh but live in Philly now and I kind have adopted the Phillies as well (partly because the Pirates hardly win and also, it is hard not to catch Phillies Phever in this town) And hey, they won last night, another World Series!
It was an awesome experience… strangers bonding over mutual fan-ships. High-fiving each other, buying each other beers. Everyone is friends with everyone for 1 evening. This team is so lovable, I don’t know how anyone can HATE this team, seems like a terrific bunch of guys! I’m a hardcore Cleveland fan, but I managed to catch “the Phever”…. plus, I can cheer on Cliff Lee here now, too.
My Indians are becoming very very similar to your Pirates lately. Can’t pay to keep the talent (curse this lack of salary cap!), blames the fans for not showing up, fans blame the management for not giving them a quality product, rinse, repeat.
We’ll give you a pass on this one, but next time… 🙂
Hey, move to Chicago where we’ll go see anything they put on the field. Been a Cubs fan all my life. If they ever win a series I’d have a heart attack on the spot as hell would have frozen over.
