I do love me some meat, but I’d prefer if I wasn’t reminded where said meat came from. ESPECIALLY not if said meat used to be a cute little fuzzy creature known to sing and dance in Disney movies.

But Thumper stew is sooooo good.
with a side of bambi’s mother.
(eesh, that sounds horrible)
How about rat meat…they aren’t that cute.
awww, no! I used to have pet rats. They were the best… and funny as heck!
Probably the only difference here is that rabbits and lambs can’t fight back by clogging the female owners arteries over a period of time.
LOL!!!
eh, you eat enough lamb and rabbit, I’m sure your arteries will take a beating as well.
Now that’s what I call a breakfast! 🙂
MMMM-mm. I wish I had more time in my mornings to prepare a “proper” breakfast, but the omelets and bacon and sausage and whole wheat pancakes dishes have to wait til the weekends.
Mmmm . . . lamb sausage!
OMNOMNOMNOM….
I switched from steer meat to buffalo [bison] years ago. Its organically fed and they dont add that pink slime to it. Plus bison ribs have half the calories, fat and cholesterol of pork and meat ribs. I didnt think I’d like it, but its delicious! So are the steaks and bison burgers! [slurp] healthy-healthy-healthy!
I tried kangaroo once as well, the after taste stayed with me for 50 miles. [blehk] [dont ask why its measured in mileage]
I have wanted to try bison meat. Didn’t know it was healthier than steer meat, I’ll have to keep an eye out, thanks Jynksie! Kangaroo? Yeah… not sure I’d try that.
Mmmmm….Pig. No matter what you bring off a pig it’s some good meat.
Hassenfeffer! Cook…bring me my Hossenfeffer!!! I remember as a kid at my grandmothers refusing to eat Squirrel and dumplins cause I could see the squirrels frolicking, or whatever it is squirrels do, in the yard. As I got older I realized meat is meat and if it’s fixed right anything will taste good. Still there are some things I won’t knowingly eat like dog or cat, instead I just call it the #2 or the #6 at the Mooshu Kitchen and pretend it’s some sort of chicken. 🙂
@407ba9ea3e53c0b62a4a648ec45686d9:disqus We have a lot of places around here that sale Buffalo, you’re right it’s a very healthy and tasty meat. When I was 14/15 I worked at an Ostrich Ranch and we would process some of the birds from time to time and I have to tell ya Ostrich Meat is very yummy, it always had more of a steak appeal to it versus tasting like chicken. So did the Kangaroo meat put an extra bounce in your step? 🙂
I never had squirrel. I recall a coworker at a past job who liked to hunt, bringing in a ziplock bag of squirrel meat shavings… totally weirded me out.
Humans are sooooo weird!!!!! 😀
hey— that’s a good tagline!! :0P
I guess it’s the way we’re all conditioned. I’m not sure if I could heartily eat any animal I had to “prepare” myself.
even making a turkey skeeves me out, but luckily it takes so long to cook, I forget about that part of it LOL.
This strip cracked me up and pointed out my hypocrisy in one fell swoop. Thanks, Dawn!
I am a multi-tasking WIZARD! I think most of us are a little hypocritical when it comes to this.
I want an alligator sandwich and make it snappy.
Rabbit is num!!! Gator has a somewhat similar taste to rabbit as well.
Now Osterich…mmm…tastes like beef only it’s more leaner and better for ya.
Lamb is also num…especially in a meatloaf….ditto with Elk.
