No, no.. calm down you geek extraordinaires. I am not the elusive cute Dungeons and Dragons chick. I played one game back in HS, and it was cut short anyway. I believe I was a bard, yippee. Although I do tend to befriend people who used to play, even those who still do. One of those lucky people inspired this strip and even gave me the final line.. but I think he’d probably prefer to go nameless ;0)
Have you read up on my successful and exciting times at Baltimore Comic Con?
Most people are never cooler than you thought.
the older I get, the more I see that. very true.
Not sure if I mentioned this but the cartoon comes up only as a box with a red x in Google reader.
fixed by the wondrous frumph himself ;0)
but thanks for the heads-up… some of these things I would never know…
D&D was way cooler thanks to Tom Hanks and his attempt to jump between the twin towers in the movie “Mazes & Monsters” which made all of us think if we played D&D we were gonna whack out and lose our minds.
The Cartoon was pretty cool, from what I remember, but I think the draw to D&D for me back in the day was that it was always talked up as being so taboo. We had a lot of great times around the board, spent more time joking and just being cool with each other than actual game play.
look at tmcelmurry brinin’ the geek-itude. I do remember the cartoon, and as I said I attempted to play D&D once, but other than I’m a deprived geek :0(
My great times with friends back in HS and college involved Mario Kart, Smash Brothers & Golden Eye on the n64, and long competitive nights of uno. yes, UNO. We did not mess around with Uno. We played by a point system and made the “draw-2/4” cards cumulative. Damn, I miss that.
Whelp, I don’t know much about these things, but it reads really well as a comic! Nice one
….. yeah, I couldn’t POSSIBLY imagine you being into this stuff.
i used to play the first version back in highschool, after they changed the system i wasnt so impressed.
don’t fix things that aren’t broken, eh?
exactly ๐
I love Dungeon and Dragons ๐ For me it was the start of my now 14 year long run in MMORPGยดs. It was my husband who introduced me to it ๐
Although i donยดt feel geeky at all hehe.
to me, the definition of “geek” is to totally and fully embrace a hobby or interest… just as D&D fans will “geek out” over fantasy role play and such, sports fans “geek out” over stats and games. I am a Cleveland sports geek as well as a comic strip geek!
Heh by that deffiniton im a MMORPG geek, a Battlestar Galatica geek, a fantasy computergames, books and movies geek, a NCIS, Bones,Gillmore Girls, SImpsons, Family Guy and American dad Geek, a horse geek and so on ๐
i got to much sparetime ๐ .. wonder if u can get goverment fundings for being a fulltime geek
Gee. Now I wonder if I’m as cool as I think I am. Probably not, huh? ๐
