Not 100% my own opinion… but you should see my to-do list for this upcoming weekend, aaaaaaak. Good god. And I am not a fan of the traditional holiday music, so glad I no longer work retail & that I do my Xmas shopping from the comfort of my study. But man, a quiet Christmas Eve, candles lit, lights twinkling, “Christmas Story” in all its glory on TV (relentlessly), and a cup of hot cocoa with a little amaretto…. nothing beats that.
sums it up for me >_>
sadly, it does for most.
Is it over yet? It has not yet even BEGUN my friend, lol.
*shudders*
What, not eggnog on your list? 😀
that comes after the hot cocoa. with Kaluha. ;0)
Tis the season to be Melancholly, Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah… Blah Blah Blah Blah.. This is coming out on CD in time for Christmas.
oh, good. I’ll play it on my boombox if I ever have to go into a retailer. Cancels out the tacky Xmas music.
I think I’ll lose it if I have any carolers stopping by. I was sick of holiday stuff during Halloween
just throw snowballs at them. They think it’s a friendly joke, but they still run away.
Ohhhhh, yeahhhhhhhh. We haven’t even had time to put up decorations yet, but I know that’s coming. My dearie is half German and they think they’ve cornered the market on Christmas. Her mother goes all out. *sigh* Must brace myself. 😛
never knew Germany (or those of German decent) was that big on Christmas. Interesting. Good luck to you!
This is so true. There’s still a part of us that hangs on to that euphoria we felt as a kid, but the grown up part seems to over take us as we get caught up in the hustle and bustle and we find ourselves losing that joy sometimes. I know as a parent I get to re-live that joy through my kids eyes and it’s changed my perspective. Hopefully this Holiday season will slow down for the Z&F’s owners and they can enjoy some spiked Eggnog and a little peace on earth.
Very well put, man. Damn kids never realize all the work that goes into their “magical holiday”. *shakes fist* Get off my 10,000-bulb-lit LAWN!
@tmcelmurry: Hear, hear! Cheers and happy holidays to all. 😀
LOL! Wait until you have kids… then the Grandparents want to make up for the guilt they have over raising you and will bask them in TONS of presents and candy making the day just one big sugar rush and hyperactive romps. I am SOOO glad my kids are older now and it’s just ME that gets all pumped up on presents and candy…
🙂
reminds me of *another* Cosby-ism: That is not the same woman that raised me– that’s an old lady who’s trying to get into HEAVEN now!
I try to live Xmas through the eyes of my dog… but I cannot relate to chewing rawhide for 3 hours very well.
Ahhh…the joys of the season. I was done shopping last week (and not black friday visits to the stores for me)
JUST finished shopping myself, as of 11pm last night! *whew*
Hahaha! One kid’s treasure is another woman’s pain. 🙂 I’m going Christmas shopping on the 24th. Get those bargain, yo!
you are a brave, brave man, George.
Different age perspectives…man, growing up sucks!
Great artwork, by the way.
Thank you! Wish I could stay a kid forever… but depending on who you talk to, I show grow up and stop drawin’ comics!
I can totally relate to this one. I was just thinking the other day that I miss being a kid at Christmas.
It’s so different. The older you get, the more work Xmas is, and the less magical it gets. I guess, until you have kids of your own… then, rinse & repeat.
Don’t stop drawin’ comics! And remember, you can’t stay a kid forever, but you can continue your annoying childish antics for as long as you like (until someone silences you…it happens).
…and, incidentally, consider yourself linked! Now my head-tripped readers will start flocking over to your comic!
